Polymorphism in phthalocyanine thin films: mechanism of the alpha-->beta transition
Article Abstract:
Two different polymorphic forms of free base phthalocyanine films are grown on glass substrates by ultrahigh vacuum organic molecular beam deposition and postgrowth annealing of films grown at room temperature leads to transformation from the alpha to the beta1 phase. Detailed morphological studies indicate that the transition occurs via a discrete number of nucleations and is preceded by an elongation of the alpha crystallites.

Charge recombination in CuPc/PTCDA thin films
Article Abstract:
Transient absorption spectroscopy is used to study the recombination kinetics of photogenerated charge carriers in perylene-3, 4, 9, 10-tetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA) and copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) thin films grown by organic molecular beam deposition. The recombination behavior is similar to the observed polymer/fullerene blends, which suggests a generic to a range of semiconducting materials.
